The following is a brief updates on the events and key appointments I have recently involved in. I am very lucky to have chances to encounter intelligent people and spend my time sharing, learning and growing together.
Last April, I participated together with UVR as exhibitor in EUROGRAPHICS, which is a unique and well-known professional platform for the computer graphics community. International academies, researchers and professors showcased their latest techniques and high quality educational work. University circle's efforts and achievements behinds each calculations and rendering was revealed, which demonstrates the indispensible role of academia to the industrial and commercial simulation and rendering program. Cooperation and bridging between academy and industry is surely critical.
In June 2022, I attended the yearly CADFEM conference in Lyon, it was a niche forum dedicated for industrial physical simulation.Variaty of presentations of simulation use cases were given covering multiple physical phenomenas: electromagnetism, fluid,mechanics, optics and system. Most of the presentater shared their hands-on experience on how simulation help them develop and test their innovative product. I met in person with engineers, researchers, company leaders. This was valuable to exchange insights, market needs, technical pain points face to face.
SIA vision is a world-wide event organized by the international society of automobile, where the new lighting techniques around the center of "LED", "OLED" was presented by company leaders on high level prospective and engineers on design details. The advanced technology ADAS became also a topic unignorable.I was there together with UVR as exhibitor to demonstrate their cutting-edge optical simulation program. Being optic design engineer in automotive field for more than ten years, for some reason I really enjoy working in automobile, a complex feeling and some questions were lingering in my head, LED is more efficient, does it mean we should put more lights on the road, inside and outside of the car?
This regional simulation user meeting is a regular event hosted by dassault SIMULIA, where users from various industries, companies, and physical sectors get to share their experiences and insights on physical simulation. One of the many impressive presentations that caught my attention was micro-optic modeling utilizing the Electro-magnetic simulation tool: CST studio. It demonstrates a great example of multiple physical simulations (thermalmechanic, optic, antenna, etc), throughout the design, validation and production processes, using a rather simple product that everyone is acquainted with in everyday life.
The regional collaborater seminar is a regular event hosted by ANSYS, where users, collaboraters, distributors gathered and share their work and demand. Ansys product developers were here to announce new features, products and varies of dialogues in the industries of automotive, mobility, aero tech were presented. During the workshops under physical domain: EM, fluid, thermal, material, etc., comprehensive use case studies were shared by experienced engineers from key players of relative industry. This is a strong and convincing argument that simulation is a reliable, incredibly affordable, and indispensable tool for implementing new ideas and technologies in the real world.
